America's Great Outdoors Listening Session in Bangor, Maine on September 2, 2010Where: Bangor Civic Center When: 3 - 6 p.m. This past April, President Obama launched the America's Great Outdoors Initiative to create a conservation and recreation agenda that addresses the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century and reconnects America with our great outdoors. Senior administration officials are coming to Bangor, Maine, on September 2nd for a public listening session to hear your thoughts on what you would like the future to look like for the state of Maine and the nation, and how you feel federal goverment can support partnerships that enhance enjoyment of our natural resources, restore habitat for fisheries and wildlife, and strengthen our cultural traditions and economy. The Penobscot River Restoration Project is one of many projects the administration is looking at as a model of collaboration between federal, state, and tribal agencies, conservation groups, industry, and communities.
