| | | Penobscot Watershed Education ProgramPilot Project with Old Town Elementary School (OTES)In the 2007-2008 school year, a new multidisciplinary education program on the Penobscot River Watershed was implemented in a collaboration between Maine Sea Grant, faculty and fifth grade students at Old Town Elementary School (OTES), the Penobscot River Restoration Trust, and the University of Maine Senator George J. Mitchell Center. Science & Monitoring A number of exciting river science and monitoring projects are underway on the Penobscot, such as research on sturgeon, geological surveying, and environmental monitoring to track physical, chemical, and biological changes in the river following dam removal. |
