Encounters with the Wild Penobscot River is a column on wildlife sightings and natural features along the shores of the Penobscot River, written by project staff and supporters. At times, this column will also focus on the people who call this place home, and the many opportunities that exist to enjoy being out on the river or walking along the shoreline throughout the year. The Penobscot River Restoration Project not only benefits 11 species of sea-run fish, but a host of other wildlife along the river; here we will celebrate these wild creatures, whether seldom or often seen. |
