On Sunday October 16, 2005, we lost a colleague, dear friend and champion of the Penobscot River, Clem Fay. Clem passed away while walking near the banks of the Penobscot with his beloved dog, Sydney.
Clem was the fisheries biologist for the Penobscot Indian Nation and had dedicated more than 17 years of his life and career to the Tribe and the Penobscot River. He knew the river inside and out and worked diligently for the benefit of the life it supported and enriched. He had a strong vision for a restored Penobscot River and cared deeply about its future. Clem's commitment and dedication to the PRRP, from the early stages until his passing, was an inspiration. His thoughtful and passionate engagement on a multitude of issues helped get us to where we are today and his contributions will always be remembered. We will miss him greatly.
